Russ Allison Loar has a bachelor’s degree in journalism from Cal State Long Beach and completed graduate studies in American Literature at Cal Poly, Pomona. His poetry and short fiction have appeared in publications both online and in hard copy, including: the anthology Heart Of A Man, Bryant Literary Review, Bright Flash Literary Review, Abstract Magazine, Evening Street Review, Coffin Bell Journal and Ravens Perch. Loar has also written news and feature stories for newspapers including the Los Angeles Times, under the byline: Russ Loar. Loar’s photography is published on websites and in print publications worldwide, including: “ABC News,” NPR and PBS websites, the European News Agency, the World Wide Fund for Nature (World Wildlife Fund), “Ms. Magazine,” the National Resources Defense Council, Radio Prague International, “Discover” magazine and numerous university publications.
