Encaustic on wood
Drawing from the well of sorrow and the heart of grief, both personal and communal, Iris Fyrdundel creates vessels and imagery as communications from the threshold. Iris imagines all who have died here wandering the landscape as ghosts, always searching for the beacons of being welcomed home and the keening of those who remember. Iris finds that grieving well nourishes and fortifies the heart in these strange and dangerous times. Alive, strangely and with reverence, in Northern California.
